Many items can be recycled but only certain items are acceptable in Delaware's single-stream curbside recycling program. Single-stream recycling is where all recyclables such as paper, plastic containers, cans, glass bottles and jars, cardboard, and cartons are placed in the same cart or dumpster, separate from your trash. Delaware only accepts certain items because of their ability to be sorted and then sold to a market for further use.
Below is a list of items that are ACCEPTABLE to put in your curbside recycling cart or dumpster in Delaware. All items must be loose, empty, clean, and dry. This applies whether you are at home, work, or school.

Plastic Containers (Place caps/lids back on.
