A ceiling fan is an electrically powered fan mounted on the ceiling of a room that uses blades to circulate air. If you cannot donate, sell, or give away your ceiling fan for reuse, it should be disposed of in the garbage.
Some light bulbs, such as those that contain mercury, cannot be thrown away and should be recycled. Older fans often contain this type of light bulb. Make sure to remove lightbulbs prior to disposal.
