Residents with leftover paint are encouraged to donate paint to their neighbors, charities, or others in the community. If you have a small amount of leftover paint you can dry it out by using kitty litter or letting the liquid evaporate (until it is dry). The solid paint may then be placed in with your household trash. Beaufort County does accept limited quantities of leftover residential paint. If you have LESS than 10 gallons of paint you may leave it at any Convenience Center. If you have MORE than 10 gallons you are asked to hold that material until our next county hazardous waste collection events. Check the county website for upcoming dates. Today there are several paint calculators on-line that help predict the volume of paint needed. This not only saves you money but from having to deal with disposing of leftover paint.
