The Science Technical Centre is a resource available to researchers, teachers, laboratories and staff for technological support in repairing, designing and building electromechanical devices.
We are experts across three units – the machine shop, electronic shop and glass shop. We have state of the art equipment, software, tools and machinery to design, repair and manufacture electronic and mechanical devices. The Science Technical Centre is also a champion of sustainability and the circular economy – we give equipment a second life by re-using, refurbishing and repurposing technology. This results in cost savings across SFU.

*Note: The Science Technical Centre runs a Monitor-Exchange program for faculty and community members to swap old/broken computer monitors for refurbished ones free of charge. They also accept undamaged cords and chargers for reuse on future projects.
