Biodegradable means that a product will break down into carbon dioxide, water and biomass within a reasonable amount of time in the natural environment.
Disposable, biodegradable takeout food boxes are made from 100% biodegradable sugarcane fiber. They will decompose in as little as 60-180 days if composted, but will last for years if kept dry and stored indoors.
They're a great alternative product because they will not melt or transfer any harmful chemicals to any food it contains.
