You can recycle bubble wrap, grocery bags, bread bags, dry-cleaning bags and the small bags that protect your newspaper from the elemets in recycle bins or at a recycling depot if you bundle the plastic film into a plastic bag (e.g. grocery bag) and tie the handles shut to prevent individual items from escaping and blowing around.

Plastic is not biodegradable and sits in landfills for hundreds of years. Also, plastic is a petroleum product and  recycling it cuts down on petroleum use. If bubble wrap is incinerated, it  releases toxic chemicals found in plastic, including dioxins, which are extremely harmful to human health.

• Bubble wrap is very easy to reuse when you, a friend, or relaitve needs to ship something fragile or wrap something to keep it safe - good to have some on hand for such occasions.
• Bubble wrap can be reused for storage purposes when recycling is not possible.
• Line planters or small gardens to provide additional insulation for plants during the winter.
• If in good condition, donate it to local businesses that accept used materials for shipping or storage.
