Used building materials from construction and demolition sites and home renovation projects make up about 40% of our waste. A lot of this material is reusable if it is handled properly, and you can save a lot of money and help our environment by buying used.

Building material includes plywood, lumber, pipe, drywall (also called gypsum and plasterboard), duct work, shingles, concrete and bricks. In the past, this material went to the landfill. Now, there are many recycling options.
