Carpet Cycle Canada accepts all types of carpet from businesses, municipalities and the public. They need your carpet to help keep the next 1 Million pounds out of our landfill.

To recycle carpet used in your home, your dealer is a good place to start to find local solutions.

If in good condition:

• List to sell or give away on a classified ad or exchange site
• Pass on to relative or friend
• Donate (many thrift shops offer a local collection service if they accept that material) 

If  the carpeting has seen better days:

• Gardeners or gardening groups may be interested in using old carpet.
• It can be used to insulate compost heaps, keeping weeds at bay on vegetable plots and on paths.
• Wool carpets also make a very good mulch!
• Old carpet can be used to line a garden pond to protect the liner from sharp stones.
• It can be cut to size and used to protect your car windscreen from frost.

To recycle it:

Check to see if your municipalitiy offers a collection service, or you take it to the local recycling centre.

Often carpet shops will take away your old carpet when they fit your new one.
