CDs and DVDs cannot be recycled in the recycling bin.

CDs store music as digital samples. DVDs are similar but they hold more data -- 4.7 gigabytes for a DVD compared to 650 megabytes for a CD. Two-layer DVDs can store twice that.

DVDs used to be a great way to watch movies at home. However, with online streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, it is not necessary to have that stockpile of DVDs
