When Christmas is over, people take down their trees and look for a place to recycle them.

Some municipalities collect Christmas trees at the curbside for composting during the first few weeks of January, while others permit residents to drop their trees off for recycling at selected recycling depots or landfill/transfer stations throughout the month. Some groups and organizations also host tree chipping events.
