With so many fast food drinks being served, millions of drinking straws contribute greatly to landfill.
Most plastic drinking straws are made from plastic #2 or plastic #5, both of which are technically recyclable. But because of their shape and the problem dealing with them, they are not usually accepted for plastic recycling. Ask whether your area accepts them.
