Dryer sheets are usually made of thin polyester covered in a fabric softener chemical and fragrance chemicals. Unfortunately, these wispy polyester sheets are not reycyclable.
They should never be flushed down the toilet as they will combine with other materials (fats, oils, grease, hair, etc.) in the sewer system and cause significant infrastructure damage when they mat together.
They should be put in the garbage, as even the ones indicating they are flushable can cause problems.
