Clean egg cartons are often welcomed by some farmers’ market vendors and some independent grocery stores, health food stores and day care centers.
Most of the egg cartons now on the market are made of molded pulp; they are recyclable at your recycling depot or mixed with the cardboard and boxboard put out at the curb for recycling.
If you tear these pulp-type egg cartons into tiny pieces (so they'll break down faster) they can also be composted as dry matter along with food scraps.
