Do not put these cartons in the recycling cart.

Clean egg cartons are often welcomed by some farmers, market vendors and some independent grocery stores, health food stores and day care centers. 

If not being reused styrofoam (polystyrene) egg cartons (and the clear plastic ones) can be put in the garbage.
