Mirrors aren't recyclable because they contain chemicals that can’t be mixed with regular glass.
To dispose of broken glass items, place the pieces inside a cardboard box, or other suitable puncture resistant, non-leaking container. When ready for disposal, close and seal container and label it as “Broken Glassl”. Place beside your garbage container, or take it directly to the dumpster.

Art supply stores might take the pieces of your broken mirror, or perhaps someone in your neighbourhood might be able to use the broken pieces for their creative art projects. Broken mirror pieces make beautiful mosaics.
You can find lots of ideas on the Internet if you want to try some of them.
If you are, or know someone, who wants to reuse this type of material, let us know so you or they can be listed as a solution provider for mirror glass. This keeps it out of landfill.
