Finally, a simple and fun recycling solution for your yogurt cups, hummus tubs and other #5 plastic containers! If you’re serious about recycling, you know that more than a third of American communities don’t accept these common containers for recycling. And many communities that do accept #5 plastics are often forced (by economic necessity) into bundling them with other plastics; in this process, they’re combined (downcycled) to form a mixed plastic bale, which is of low value and is often shipped overseas to an unknown end of life.
With the Preserve Gimme 5 program, you can enjoy the many great products that are packaged in #5 plastic, save them up, clean them out and drop them off at a participating retail location—or mail them back to Preserve for recycling.
