Recycle it
Separate the pages from the coil.
The pages can be recycled as paper.
The metal from spiral bound notebooks can be recycled, but you will have to take it to a recycling centre rather than recycling it curbside. To recycle it curbside, stuff it it inside a metal can, which is then crimped shut to keep it contained (a loose coil would cause problems with the sorting equipment).
The plastic from a spiral bound notebook will need to be thrown away.
