Paper board is the main component of these types of cartons, as well as thin layers of polyethylene (plastic) and/or aluminium. The shelf-stable cartons contain about 74% paper, 22% polyethylene and 4% aluminium. While the refrigerated cartons contain about 80% paper and 20% polyethylene.
