Recyclopedia helps you find information on how to correctly dispose of unwanted items and materials. Please select the item or material you want to dispose of below. We'll tell you whether it can go out with the trash, in your recycling, to a charity, or if it needs special attention.
Each community has it's own Recyclopedia section. Please type an address or move the red pin to set your location and we'll find your community - or choose your community from the list below the map.
Books that are no longer usable can be recycled. Paperback books are accepted through your municipal recycling program with other mixed waste paper items.
Hardcover books contain glue in the cover and spine that make them difficult to recycle. For these books, tear or cut out the pages in the middle and recycle as mixed waste paper. The remaining cover and spine can be disposed of with your household garbage. We're looking for information on who else locally takes used books. Please contact us if you have information.
