Used motor oil contains toxic impurities such as lead and cadmium, which can be cleaned, filtered, given new additives and used again. Oil that is improperly disposed of can contaminate and pollute the soil, groundwater, streams and rivers. Recycling used motor oil reduces this pollution threat.
Take it to a certified collection center to protect the environment and conserve a valuable resource. Never pour it down a drain, sewer, in the gutter, or on the ground.
