If you wish to dispose of CDs, DVDs and their cases, you will probably find few recycling locations. CDs and DVDs cannot be recycled in the recycle bin or the recycling centers.
CDs store music as digital samples. DVDs are very similar to CDs, but they hold more data -- 4.7 gigabytes for a DVD compared to 650 megabytes for a CD. Two-layer DVDs can store twice that.
