Plain paper greeting cards can be recycled with mixed paper. But not ones made with foil, metallic, sparkles or other adorments (such as ribbons, bows, buttons, elastic, etc.). If you can remove the restricted portions leaving just the paper part you can recycle that, otherwise they go in the garbage.

Each year, 2.65 billion Christmas Cards are made and sold. Add Birthday Cards and other holiday cards to that total and we’re talking about a lot of paper.
