• Hold a garage sale
• Sell or give to used book stores
• List them on http://www.2good2toss.com/snohomish/
• Take to 'Reading Tree ' at the Snohomish County Solid Waste Recycling and Transfer Stations
• Sell of give to book dealers who handle everything from paperbacks and popular magazines to higher quality and rare books
• University and college textbooks are accepted at most university or college bookstores through their book buy-back program

For slightly older textbooks, contact your local Rotary Club to see if they are appropriate to send overseas.

Books that are no longer usable can be recycled. The paperback books are accepted through your municipal recycling program with other mixed waste paper items.

Hardcover books contain glue in the cover and spine that make them difficult to recycle. For these books, tear or cut out the pages in the middle and recycle as mixed waste paper. The remaining cover and spine can be disposed of with your household garbage.
