Butane Cartridges, used in cordless curling irons and other cordless appliances, are small and similar in appearance to an aerosol can.
If not empty they should NEVER be put in the garbage.
If empty they can be disposed of as an empty aerosol. See aerosol cans topic: https://recyclopedia.org/testing/1/aerosol-cans
If they still contain butane they should be disposed of as a hazardous waste.
If you can’t avoid using them, safe disposal is very important.
